A Little History
The Best Guest House is situated in the centre of the historical slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The building dates to around 1820 and was originally a hospital serving one of the local mines.
With the decline of the slate industry, the hospital closed and the building fell into a state of disrepair. It remained unused for many decades until it was bought by the Evans Family in the early 1990's.
The family began a process of both restoration and considerable modernisation, the finished building retaining many of it's original features coupled with the comforts of modern living. It opened as a Guest House in 1997
